Synoptic screen

Separeco developed a new PLC control system, piloted by a software called Gerico, which supervises all the process management activities. Thanks to this software all the variables are video and temporally-graphically memorized, and the graphs are printable. All the settings are shown on a big size monitor.

Gerico communicates with the PLC via an 100 Mbit Ethernet protocol. 

The control panel is also visible in remote mode through a VPN connection on the Internet. A sophisticated warnings management system has been implemented . Seven different intervention levels were created, and they interact with the PLC providing information, warnings and emergency stops due to malfunctioning. The graphs has a real time zoom functionality, with visualization of operative limits and set points.

Gerico is able to set:

  • Process pressure;
  • CO2 flow rate and feeding pump flow rate;
  • The temperature of each single vase
  • The temperature of each single reactor or exchanger;
  • Boiler temperature;
  • Chiller temperature;
  • Warning and emergency stop alarms.
  • Illiimitated recipes

 Gerico is able to visualize:
  • The pressure before and after every single vessel
  • Evaluation of pressure losses;
  • The temperature of each test point;
  • The pumps flow rate in Kg/h;
  • The amount of CO2 pumped during the cycle;
  • All the warning messages;
  • Real tie graphs with limits indications;
  • Valves position and temperature control.

SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) is a type of industrial control system (ICS). Industrial control systems are computer controlled systems that monitor and control industrial processes that exist in the physical world. SCADA systems historically distinguish themselves from other ICS systems by being large scale processes that can include multiple sites, and large distances. These processes include industrial, infrastructure, and facility-based processes.

A SCADA control is always connected to a HMI. A human–machine interface or HMI is the apparatus which presents process data to a human operator, and through which the human operator controls the process.

HMI is usually linked to the SCADA system's databases and software programs, to provide trending, diagnostic data, and management information such as scheduled maintenance procedures, logistic information, detailed schematics for a particular sensor or machine, and expert-system troubleshooting guides. Movicon by Progea

We use Movicon by Progea to develop our software.

Movicon™ 11 guarantees the maximum data security. Projects, even though based on XML, can be encrypted with 128 bit coding algorithms. The FDA CFR21 Part 11 normative is completely integrated in the platform, making it extremely simple to create FDA ready applications. The User Password manager guarantees access security by level and/or area. The Visual Source Safe integration guarantees that all work is kept under top security.

Movicon™ 11 is completely based on standard technologies, making sure that your investments are well safeguarded. The XML, ODBC, OPC, VBA, SOAP, Web Services, TCP-IP and SQL technologies have been integrated in the platform to guarantee easy data access and transparency.

Movicon™ 11 has enhanced performances by renewing its concept of the “exception-based” technology and graphics engine based on SVG (Scalable Vectorial Graphics).

All Separeco automated system are powerd with Gerico drive software. From the lab scale to industrial plant, the software is the same. This reduces dramatically personnel training cost.
